Color artwork on monuments

Color artwork on monuments is a service that appeared relatively recently, but has nevertheless managed to become highly popular. This does not refer to color photos on cermet or ceramic plaques — those have been used for a long time and are familiar to everyone. We are talking about applying a color drawing directly onto the stone.
Thanks to this, the tombstone structure will become unique and original, and its appearance will be beyond all praise, exceeding all expectations. Therefore, color artwork is especially relevant in the manufacturing of elite-class monuments.

Most often, this includes a color photograph of the deceased, flowers, or a thematic drawing — landscapes, faces of saints, icons, Jesus Christ, as well as other biblical characters or a custom drawing. Quite frequently, you can see images depicting churches, temples, and other religious buildings, which can also be complemented by an inscription: an epitaph or a quote from the Bible. It all depends on your wishes, and we are ready to fulfill them.
A color portrait is able to convey what standard black-and-white engraving cannot: eye and hair color, lip color, and clothing. Acrylic paints are applied to the portrait. We select light-resistant specialized paint of Italian and Indian production. It is the least susceptible to the effects of sun, wind, and rain.
However, it is worth knowing that any paints fade over time, depending on the location of the monument in the cemetery and the amount of sun exposure it gets. Color portraits are better preserved in the shade of trees. The customer should be prepared for the fact that after a certain period of time, the color image on the monument will require restoration. But if this is not done, only the paint will “dim”, while the portrait itself will remain on the monument just as before.
All this makes the monument not only brighter and more recognizable, but also preserves the image of your loved one just as you remembered them in life.

Color portrait on a monument — will it last long?
The first question that arises among customers is: won’t the color portrait fade in the sun? Won’t it wash away with the rain?
Every artist working with stone can tell you: the portrait or drawing is applied using special equipment and paint that will remain just as bright for a long time. Each such portrait comes with a warranty of at least 5 years.
To ensure that the portrait on the monument lasts as long as possible, follow basic maintenance rules: do not rub it, do not touch it with skin or lips, and do not use chemicals to wash the monument. Wipe the monument with a soft sponge or cloth.
